Crew Scheduling Supervisor

​We are looking for a Crew Scheduling Supervisor for our client in the Middle East. This is a full time relocation role. 


The Crew Planning Supervisor compiles, selects, correlates, and analyses current flight schedules to provide safe, dependable, efficient, and legal crew coverage for all flight segments to be flown each month. Will manage multiple schedules required for the company fleet and ensure that all schedules constructed will comply with the CAA regulations and company policies.
 

Responsibilities 

• Ensuring that crew resources (Pilot/Loadmasters and Engineers) are managed in the most efficient and cost-effective way, in compliance with documented statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Calculate crew duties & rest, optimise standby crews, and implement flight changes (covering sicknesses, delays...). Keep up to date knowledge of flight time limitations.
• Correctly planned/re-planned in accordance with regulatory guidelines and company operational manuals.
• Prioritising safety and legality in all crewing decisions.
• Maintaining and developing a professional standard of relations with Crew, other Line Departments, and fellow team members.
• Ensuring that all crew duties are accurately maintained in accordance with the approved FTL scheme.
• Liaise with transport companies to organise ground transportation for Company Flight Crews/Load Masters and Engineers at outstations. 
• Arrange or liaise with travel agencies to make sure hotel accommodation is provided when needed.
• Forecasting and Data Analysis of crew related data to assure adequate crew resource management. 
• Evaluate flight and stand-by coverage to mitigate any possible disruptions. 
• Plan all training and associated events including line training, simulator, and classroom training in conjunction with the Training department. 


Duties

 • Completes monthly optimization of crew pairings for Pilots and Loadmasters.
• Completes all required administrative support work to support pairing and line construction including planned absence tracking, file transfer and loading into applicable software systems and monthly reporting. 
• Plans and administers crew vacation bidding. 
• Provides support analysis related to crew staffing. 
• Evaluates future schedules and provides feedback to the business based on identified crew impact/cost.
• Coordinates hotel volume and requirements with crew accommodations provider. 
• Posts and awards crew vacancy bids. 
• Maintain the pilot 3 letter codes. 
• Maintain a monthly sickness report.
• Ensure that all flight assigned crew members meet all relevant competency and recency requirements by cross-checking with the information through the company Crew Planning System. 


Qualifications and Experience 

• 5 years crew planning and crew scheduling experience or related airline function required, with a minimum of 3 years crew planning experience preferred. 
• A sound knowledge and appreciation of the detail and complexity of the regulatory environment governing airline operations.
• Experience with crew management software applications including crew tracking, preferential bidding and pairing optimization systems. 
• Accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment.
• Have a working knowledge of roster policies.
• Be familiar with pre-tactical functions of Crew Control/Advanced Crew Control and provide cover where needed.
• Familiar with EASA regulatory schemes associated with Chapter7.
• Familiar with FRMS systems.
• Excellent people skills with the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with management and staff at all levels.
• Ability to think creatively and solve problems.
• Proven decision-making skills.
• Ability to use own initiative.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.


Desirable Criteria 

• Experience in using Airline Crewing and Scheduling systems (AIMS, SABRE, NETLINE, CYBERJET, LEON).
• High Proficiency Microsoft computer applications – Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint software.
