Overview:
Performs and leads internal audits with minimal supervision, ensuring regulatory and company compliance across all departments. Auditor II is responsible for high-complexity audits, systemic issue identification, and providing audit leadership during external inspections. The role supports the development of audit tools, provides mentorship to junior auditors, and plays a key role in driving continuous improvement across the organization’s Quality Management System. Auditor II actively interfaces with regulatory authorities and provides management with quality performance insights.
Responsibilities:
- Independently leads complex internal audits across multiple operational areas to ensure regulatory and procedural compliance.
- Develops audit plans, detailed checklists, and leads audit teams for high-priority audits.
- Prepares detailed audit reports, manages systemic issues, and ensures corrective action effectiveness.
- Acts as the primary company liaison during GACA, lessor, and customer audits, coordinating responses and documentation.
- Develops, updates, and improves audit procedures and internal audit documentation.
- Conducts root cause analyses (RCA) and verifies the sustainability of corrective actions through follow-up audits.
- Conducts specialized audit training and provides mentorship to junior auditors and operational staff.
- Provides quality performance summaries and audit trend analysis to support Quality Review Board (QRB) decision-making.
- Collaborates with operational teams to identify process improvement opportunities and strengthen the Quality Management System.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of aviation auditing or quality assurance experience, preferably with exposure to multiple operational areas.
- Advanced knowledge of GACA regulations, ICAO standards, and aviation operational requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in leading audits, managing complex findings, and interfacing with regulators
- GACA-approved Internal Auditor training or equivalent is mandatory.
- ISO 9001 or comparable lead auditor certification is preferred.
- Additional certifications in safety auditing, SMS, or QMS are an advantage.
