Maintenance Safety specialist

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Aviation Maintenance Safety Specialist for our long term client in the Middle East. This will be a permanent role and a direct hire by the client. Estimated recruitment period is 3 months from the time of interview. 

 The candidate will work closely with our maintenance teams to identify and implement safety procedures, provide safety training, and support continued improvement of our safety management system (SMS).

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, and programs for aircraft maintenance operations in accordance with GACA regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
• Conduct safety assessments, audits, and inspections of maintenance operations to ensure compliance with safety regulations and identify hazards and risks.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs to maintenance personnel to increase awareness and adherence to safety procedures.
• Analyze accident and incident reports to identify trends and recommend corrective actions and improvements to the SMS.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the development, implementation, and management of safety plans, including emergency response plans.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations for maintenance facilities and equipment, as well as training requirements for personnel.
• Research and stay current with safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices to continuously improve aviation maintenance safety programs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in aviation maintenance or a related field.
• Five years or more of experience in aviation maintenance safety, including knowledge of FAA and/or GACA regulations and safety management systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with teams across various departments.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify hazards and recommend improvements to the SMS.
• Familiarity with aviation maintenance procedures and technologies.
